In Habima Theatre's production of the play 'A Doll's House' by Henrik Ibsen, Shani Cohen plays Nora Helmer. The translation, adaptation, and direction are by Hanan Snir. The show is in Hebrew. About the show 'A Doll's House' is a modern, revolutionary classic that examines the personal price of a life run according to expectations, conventions, and predetermined roles. Nora Helmer appears to live inside a perfect picture: a successful husband, children, a well-kept home, and a promising financial future. On Christmas Eve, the family is preparing to celebrate Torvald's appointment as bank manager, but at that very moment a secret from the past that Nora has worked hard to hide resurfaces. Krogstad, a bank employee fearing for his job, threatens to expose the truth. Nora tries to protect her family and the appearance of her life, and becomes trapped in a web of fear, lies, and pretense. As the pressure mounts, the relationship between her and her husband cracks, exposing the foundation on which their marriage was built. Through Nora's disillusionment, the play raises questions about marriage, personal freedom, responsibility, and a woman's place in a world that seeks to decide for her who she should be. The play, which sparked controversy from its very publication, takes on renewed meaning in the era following the feminist revolution and the MeToo movement. For the first time, Nora is forced to look at her life without the masks and decorations of the perfect home - and decide whether to keep playing the role written for her or choose an independent path.
