A Tony Award-winning play! Israeli premiere! A drama of life and death, about art, friendship, and the generation gap. The painter Mark Rothko, one of the leading painters of abstract expressionism, is commissioned for a substantial sum to paint a series of murals for the benefit of diners at the Four Seasons restaurant being built in New York. He agrees, but is filled with anxiety as he is forced to confront the commercial act against his own artistic values and against his young, charismatic assistant, who brings with him a whiff of a new era that threatens to leave him irrelevant.
