In a small studio in New York, three artists met who spoke different languages but shared one musical language: American saxophonist Stan Getz, Brazilian guitarist and singer João Gilberto, and composer Antônio Carlos Jobim. From this fusion, bossa nova was born - a style that connected jazz's cool elegance with the warmth, sun and melancholy of Brazil. Getz/Gilberto is considered one of those rare masterpiece albums, a work that manages to cross borders, redefine a genre, and stay fresh and relevant even sixty years later. The songs on the album, including "The Girl from Ipanema", "Desafinado", "Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars)" and "Só Danço Samba", became timeless classics and the soundtrack of an entire generation. Now, as part of Shablul's masterpiece album series, which is gathering momentum and drawing a loyal audience of jazz and quality-music lovers, we bring that same magic back to the stage six decades later, with a lineup of star musicians: Amit Friedman in the role of Stan Getz, with the deep, elegant sound of the saxophone; Zuca Parfinian, born in Brazil, in the role of João Gilberto - singing in his native language and playing the percussion that brings the Brazilian soul back to center stage; Dr. Roi Ben Sira on piano, in the role of Antônio Carlos Jobim, providing the album's poetic, flowing harmonies; Marcelo Nami, also born in Brazil, on guitar, carrying on the bossa nova line with its familiar warmth and softness; and Guy Levy on double bass - holding it all together with precision and perfect elegance.
