On the roof of an ancient monastery in Jaffa, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the lights of Tel Aviv, the songs of two of the most beloved creators and singers in world music will be heard — Elton John and Billy Joel. That evening the stage will be lit by hundreds of candles. Instead of a traditional concert hall, the concert will take place under the open sky, facing the sea and among ancient stone walls. Tomer Hesheg and his band will perform Your Song, Rocket Man, and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road — among Elton John's greatest hits, long since classics of world music. Imagine Candle in the Wind echoing between the ancient stone walls, with hundreds of candles flickering around you. Under Jaffa's night sky, the songs we all know and love will come to life. An evening of ballads and romance awaits you, with Tomer's impressive voice and piano sounds filling the air. The evening will continue with the music of Billy Joel, with She's Always a Woman, Just the Way You Are, New York State of Mind, and of course — Piano Man. Two creators who knew how to turn deeply personal stories into songs that touched millions of people. Two of the biggest names in the world of music and piano. Jazz band — SymFunny Orchestra A jazz ensemble of musicians from the SymFunny Orchestra project — musicians with academic training and experience on the stages of Israel's leading theaters and philharmonics, alongside musicians active in the country's contemporary music scene. Please note: the concert takes place in an open venue on the grounds of an ancient monastery by the sea. Evenings by the sea can be cool, so we recommend bringing a light scarf or something warm in case of cool weather. Also note that there is no bar or café on the monastery grounds.
