He broke into public consciousness in the early 1950s playing with Charlie Parker and later with the Gerry Mulligan Quartet. Chet Baker left behind a mark with his moving performances of hundreds of songs from the Great American Songbook. In this evening's show, the quintet will play selected pieces associated with him. Yonatan Kozlovsky is one of Israel's leading jazz trumpeters. He plays with the country's top jazz artists, is a member of Eli Degibri's big band, and takes part in jazz festivals such as the Red Sea Jazz Festival, Jaffa Jazz, Tedar, New Orleans, and more. He leads a quintet focused on paying tribute to the great trumpeters of jazz such as Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Clifford Brown, Chet Baker, and more. He teaches at the jazz department of the Israeli Conservatory in Tel Aviv (Stricker). Selah Collective — original jazz with a Mediterranean flavor Composition and arrangements: members of the ensemble Selah Collective is a musical collective formed in 2009 out of a desire to create an original musical language combining jazz, fusion, and world music. The group's music bridges Mediterranean, African, and Latin influences with a contemporary sound and a distinctive energy. The collective's musical work draws inspiration from artists and groups such as Avishai Cohen, Ibrahim Maalouf, Snarky Puppy, Omri Mor, Laço, and Tayfa, and combines original melodies, improvisation, instrumental pieces, and collaborations with guest musicians. The group's debut album, Belonging, was released on January 18, 2019, and includes eight original works. Selah Collective has performed at festivals and musical events in Israel and Europe, including the Kaunas Jazz Festival in Lithuania and the Divercities Festival in Grenoble, France, as well as music and jazz festivals in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Russia, Germany, and other countries. The repertoire is varied and dynamic — ranging from quiet, intimate pieces to upbeat, energetic jazz numbers that invite the audience to listen, participate, and dance.
