This evening the ancient walls will fill with the soft light of hundreds of candles, and the breath of the sea will be felt in the air. And somewhere between the saxophone, the murmur of the waves and the hinted bustle of the evening city — Paris will begin… where every melody is like a memory. Where the bars are still alive, where a hundred years ago cabaret music was heard, where swing was danced for the first time — by the light of old street lamps and beside lonely bridges over the Seine. This evening the open courtyard of the Armenian monastery by the sea will turn into a closed Parisian club: instead of neon — hundreds of candles, instead of the noise of the city — the breath of the great waters beyond the walls. The Champs-Élysées will sound in the pulse of the double bass, in the soft chords of the piano, in the piercing solo of the saxophone and in the voice of Rinat Goldman. La vie en rose — as an anthem for the great city — will melt into the coolness of the evening and the sea air of another shore. Sous le ciel de Paris — and already we are riding through the narrow streets of Montmartre, where Van Gogh and Picasso once lived. I Will Wait for You — as an invitation to a meeting by the wall of love, where "Amélie" was filmed. Champs-Élysées — like a stroll for two. The jazz of the Champs-Élysées. Édith Piaf and Michel Legrand are waiting for you. Joe Dassin and Jean-Jacques Goldman invite you on this jazz journey. Performers: Rinat Goldman (vocals) Jazz band: musicians of the Sum Funny Orchestra – an ensemble that brought together musicians with academic experience from leading theaters and philharmonic orchestras. Today – artists of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and active participants in Israel's contemporary music scene. Please note: the concert takes place in an open area on the grounds of an ancient monastery by the sea. Evenings by the sea can be cool, so we recommend bringing a light scarf or something warm in case of cool weather. Also, please note that there is no bar or café on the monastery grounds. The entrance to the monastery is from the Jaffa promenade side, not through the Old City. See you among the candles, the music and the sea of the evening.
