The Luxembourg Gardens, the Panthéon, student life at the Sorbonne, special bookstores, appetite-whetting food markets, and landmarks in the life of the legendary chansonnier Charles Aznavour. We will set out on musical tours of Paris accompanied by the best of French chanson. Each session will focus on a different area of the City of Light and will be adorned with chansons connected to the places, history, food culture, and famous people of each district. The sessions will be accompanied by a rich variety of songs, film clips, and performance footage, all translated into Hebrew. Dr. Aviv Amit — music lecturer, linguist, and researcher of French culture, holds a doctorate from the Sorbonne University in Paris and from Tel Aviv University. Dr. Amit served as a visiting lecturer at the University of Paris IV, lectures at international conferences around the world, and specializes in French chanson, sociolinguistics, and 20th-century French culture.
