The Katia Toobol and Ofer Shapira Quintet plays music from the wonderful album Dave Digs Disney. If you know Dave Brubeck only for Time Out, a wonderful surprise awaits you. Dave Digs Disney is one of the most hidden and magical gems in his career: in 1957 Brubeck took the songs we all grew up on from beloved Disney films and turned them into jazz pieces full of imagination, sophistication, humor and swing. Suddenly the childhood songs sound like jazz standards — without losing the charm, innocence and smile they evoke to this day. Even if you've never heard the album, you'll find yourself recognizing the melodies from the very first notes. This is also one of the rare opportunities to hear this album performed live — an experience that has probably never been seen in Israel before. For this one-time performance, a quartet of some of Israel's leading jazz musicians will take the stage, joined as a special guest by flutist Ilan Salem — a legend of Israeli jazz. Together they will bring back to life an extraordinary album that is at once a celebration of superb jazz and a nostalgic journey into the soundtrack of childhood.
