A widowed IDF soldier is determined to fulfill his promise to his partner, who was killed in the war, and convert their shared son — born via surrogacy — to Judaism. The conversion process becomes complicated when the rabbi realizes the father is gay. He sends his adopted son, a young, intelligent ultra-Orthodox man, to teach the play's protagonist about Judaism and keep an eye on him. An unexpected and complex bond develops between the two — a bond that puts the original promise to a heart-wrenching test. A human, comic drama that exposes Israel's charged conflict between identity, gender, and tradition.
