Bolero X by Shahar Binyamini - performed by the Beit LeMachol Dance Company (20:30)

Following great success and rave reviews, the work of internationally acclaimed Israeli choreographer Shahar Binyamini, "BOLERO X," comes to the Haifa Auditorium. A powerful journey between contemporary dance and orchestral music, featuring 30 dancers of the Beit LeMachol Dance Company, Be'er Sheva. The show is a first-of-its-kind artistic collaboration between Shahar Binyamini and composer Ariel Blumenthal. The original music, recorded by the Revolution Orchestra conducted by Roi Oppenheim, accompanies the piece throughout its first two parts. The program includes 3 works: Part One - APRIL A powerful work based on a renewed look at questions of rhythm, body, and group, as they crystallized during formative moments in the history of modern dance. The piece unfolds a ritualistic, timeless space in which the group body coalesces into a single living entity, while the individual moves between merging and resistance. The movement shifts between inner drive and collective action, creating a sensory-mystical experience of a ritual in the making. The piece features original orchestral music by Ariel Blumenthal, combining traditional acoustic instruments with electronic elements, guitars, percussion, and synthesizers - creating a rich, complex, and surprising sound. Part Two - ARISE A work that reexamines ideas of space, image, and feeling as they developed in the early 20th century. The choreography moves along a fine, mystical, and sensual line, between movement minimalism and physical outburst, between the individual and their surroundings, and between attraction and distance. This is a timeless space in which the body appears as memory, as longing, and as drive. In collaboration with composer Ariel Blumenthal, a new musical layer is woven, engaging with familiar material and offering it a contemporary interpretation, in a rich orchestral arrangement presented as a recorded soundtrack. Part Three - BOLERO X The evening concludes with BOLERO X - a choreographic version of an iconic musical structure, based on the principle of repetition, accumulation, and gradual intensification. It is a movement sequence built on a single rhythm and an evolving pattern that continually changes its colors and intensity over time. The choreography focuses on the tension between the individual and the group, between control and surrender, and between discipline and movement passion.
