Conductor and musical director: Tam Karni Artistic direction: Naomi Faran Frank Martin: Mass for Double Choir Yechezkel Braun: Song of Songs A concert bringing together two masterpieces, each of which gives a different voice to spirituality, love and the beauty of the human voice. At the center of the program is the Mass for Double Choir by the Swiss composer Frank Martin – one of the peaks of a cappella choral literature. Martin wrote the work out of a deep personal motive, and it moves between transparency and delicacy and moments of radiant power, as the texture of the double choir creates a rich and moving sonic world. Alongside it, "Song of Songs" by Yechezkel Braun – one of the most important and beloved works in the Israeli choral repertoire. Braun gives the romantic biblical text a sensitive and colorful musical interpretation, combining influences from Western music with echoes of local traditions, creating an experience that is both poetic and contemporary. The two works, written decades apart and in different cultural settings, meet in one concert around the power of the human voice to express faith, longing and love. This is an evening that invites the audience to be swept into a world of pure sounds, refined emotion and extraordinary musical richness.
