Agamemnon sets out on a secret diplomatic mission on which the fate of the region depends, against the backdrop of the growing threat of the Trojan War. As a leader who bears responsibility for the future of Greece, he learns of the terrible condition for ending the war: his teenage son Orestes must be sacrificed. At thirty thousand feet, torn between his duty as a father and his duty to the state, Agamemnon faces the hardest of choices. Menelaus, his brother and head of the army, demands that the son be sacrificed for the homeland. Clytemnestra, Orestes' mother, fights desperately for her child's life. Meanwhile, the opposition tries to exploit the crisis for its own political gain. The decision must be made before the plane lands. After the success of the productions Oedipus and Medea, audiences can look forward to the third part of this striking Greek trilogy staged by Irad Rubinstein — a contemporary and powerful reading of the classic tragedy that explores the price of leadership and the eternal conflict between the interests of the family and the interests of the state.
